Living room rugs
The right living room rug anchors your seating and makes the room feel finished. Most living rooms need an 8′ × 10′ or 9′ × 12′ rug: big enough for at least the front legs of your sofa and chairs, with 12–18 inches of bare floor around the edge. Smaller apartment living rooms often work with a 6′ × 9′. What’s the most durable living room rug?
Wool and polypropylene hold up best to daily foot traffic; polypropylene is also easier to clean.
Should a living room rug go under the sofa?
